Overview

Our poolside restaurant is open most of the day and evening. On the menu are a variety of fresh fish brought in every morning by the fishermen of Cirali and including shrimp, lobster, squid, octopus, snapper, grouper, sea bass and mackerel. All fruit and vegetables are grown organically by local farmers and delivered fresh each day.

The Hotel Odile offers an internet connection (w-lan), room service and a doctor on call. We will book and confirm your flight, rent your car, bicycle or tractor and assist you in every way possible.

The Beach -Cirali beach is a clean, unspoilt, wide, 5-km long strip of sand with the clear blue waters of the Bay of Olympos to one side and the lush green of the groves of orange and lemon trees to the other.

The beach was witness to many famous myths and legends. It saw the birth of Apollo and Athena. It was the stage of the battle between the hero Bellerophon and the monstrous fire-spitting chimera and it saw him and his flying mount struck down by Zeus when they tried to fly to the top of Mount Olympus to challenge the jealous god in his own home. It features the ruins of the port of Olympos, where ships from all over the Mediterranean used to drop anchor during ancient times. Olympos was a member of the Lycian League, an organization that may have been one of the first true democracies of the Western world.

And finally, Çıralı beach is the favorite place of the Caretta caretta, a species of marine turtle that returns here every summer to lay its eggs in the warm sand. During the early morning hours in early September, you may even observe the young turtles emerging from their eggs and making their way to the sea.

The waters of the Bay of Olympos are free of harmful algae and poisonous jellyfish.

Because of its natural beauty and historical importance, Cirali beach is probably unique in the world.

Cirali - Cirali is without a doubt THE place for a tranquil holiday far away from the centers of mass tourism. The village lies on both sides of a long, narrow road along the beach and most of it is hidden among the trees. There are no big hotels, no discotheques and no tourist traps. There are several small restaurants which are probably best described as picturesque; all offer excellent food. There are one or two small shops known as markets and selling everything from fresh vegetables to plastic sunglasses. Cirali 's natural beauty, its laidback atmosphere and the many untouched historical sites will make an everlasting impression.

Come and experience the famous Cirali hospitality and the tranquility of the Hotel Odile and you will understand why those who have been here have named Cirali "the last true hidden paradise".

Amenities & Attractions

Hiking - Around Cirali . There are six marked wander routes, most of which take you along parts of the famous Lycian Way - a 500-km long way-marked footpath from Fethiye to Antalya which has been called one of the ten most rewarding trekking trails in the world. These routes are suited for both the experienced and the inexperienced hiker. The shortest takes you for a 2-hour walk, the longest takes around 5 hours.

Mount Chimera - Mount Chimera - known locally as Yanartas - is perhaps best known as the place where the Greek hero Bellerophon defeated the mythical chimera, a fire-spitting monstrosity that used to lay waste to the countryside in ancient times. An hour's walk takes you from the Hotel Odile to the ruined temple of Hephaestus on top of the mountain where eternal flames spring from the very bedrock itself!

Ruins of Olympos - Literally a stone's throw away from Cirali and located directly on the beach is the once important ancient port of Olympos, a partially overgrown ruin with some remarkably intact buildings. Its ancient center - or agora - lies on a rocky promontory and offers a beautiful view of Çıralı beach and the Mediterranean. Of special note are the necropolis, the Roman baths, several mosaic floors, a few well preserved tombs and the impressively tall facade of a building that may have been a temple or a gate. Because it has been largely untouched for centuries, Olympos truly gives its visitors the feeling that they are the first to rediscover the city.
